We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Owlet, a hands-on, technology-enabled collection of elementary math tools. Owlet’s two manipulatives, Glow and Cube, combine with digital apps to make abstract math concrete for grades K-5. “Aha!” moments result from peer-to-peer sharing, safe space to explore, and immediate feedback. Both tools are slated to ship in September, and pre-orders start TODAY! Teachers can also request a 60-day free trial to understand how these tools can integrate seamlessly in their math curriculum.

The Owlet collection was created to provide safe, fun, and interactive exploration of math concepts for students in grades K-5. Glow and Cube are the result of a design & research study conducted in partnership with Carnegie
“I’ve done so many projects in 30 years and this has been the easiest, most adaptable to the kids and truly valuable to their learning,” a second grade teacher from the pilot program said. “This has really true content in it, and I’m so pleased.”
Meet Glow
Glow is part LED display, part etch-a-sketch, and 100 percent about helping math make sense for young learners. Students turn dials and press buttons that control the board’s embedded LED lights and, in turn, illustrate operations, write math equations, and model fractions. Glow works seamlessly via bluetooth with three custom-made apps, free to download: GlowGrid, GlowPix, and Fractions. The hands-on aspect and digital real-time feedback allow students to visualize math concepts in a new-concrete way.

Meet Cube
Cube is a sensor-enabled tower designed to develop knowledge of place value concepts, including whole numbers, decimals, and money. Students work in pairs by stacking cubes in the three sensor-enabled tracks to create numbers and solve math problems. Cube is also made to work with its own set of free, custom-made apps: Cube3 and Cube6. Cube’s hands-on learning and app-based, immediate feedback creates a cutting-edge experience for both students and teachers.
BirdBrain Technologies is an industry-leader in supporting teachers, and the company is proud to continue this tradition with the Owlet math collection.
